Hemp-derived THC products have seen rapid growth in Minnesota following the passage of the House File 4065 in 2022. However, due to minimal regulatory oversight, inconsistencies in product quality and safety persist, particularly in THC-infused beverages. To address these challenges, our beverage company has implemented rigorous standard operating procedures to ensure a safe and high-quality product. Using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), we analyzed long-term storage conditions, the impact of pasteurization, and the effects of certain flavoring additives on cannabinoid degradation. In this poster, the Surly Quality Control team will outline the steps taken to ensure a THC beverage that fosters customer trust and satisfaction, with a primary emphasis on maintaining the stability of THC potency over time.
