My name is TW Moore, Technical Brewing Cold Side Specialist at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Mills River, NC. I have worked with SN at this location for almost 12 years, moving from Sanitation team to Asst brewer, Brewer, Lead in Filtration (5 years) and now my current role. I was able to attain my IBD General Certificate in 2013 and the Siebel Advanced Brewing Theory Certificate in 2016. Prior to brewing, I worked on my family farm and tire shop (focus on agricultural tires), when not in school, for a decade, as well as other odd jobs in conjunction with working on the farm such as: home inspections, tree work, landscaping, and caring for the elderly. I recieved a BA in Psycology from Appalachian State University in 2008, with a minor in Anthropology.
Brewing has been an extremely rewarding experience for me, being able to apply art (recipe development is art), science, tradition, innovation and hard work to achieve a goal: making the best beer possible for anyone to enjoy.
Being born and raised in Mills River, I helped with hay harvest on the actual property the brewery stands on now through my childhood, talk about full circle!
I have a wife of 12 years (Candice) whom I love very much and is my rock, as well as 2 miniature Dachshunds (Stella and Sylvie), a catahoula (Tallulah aka Tally), and 6 goats.
