My name is Jason Platek and I am Business Development Manager in the Brewery business unit of Boccard Life Sciences which is a sister company of Meura. In 2007 I graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. This is where my journey into the brewing world began, as my first job out of school was as an Assistant Pilot Brewer for what was then Miller Brewing Company. While at Miller Brewing and then MillerCoors i soaked up as much brewing knowledge and first hand brewing experience as I could. I worked in the Pilot Brewery for 6 years until my next opportunity presented itself. In 2013 I joined Aegir Brewing Systems as their Brewing Engineer. This was a ground floor opportunity at a startup company that produced exclusively Fully-Automated Brewhouses using only Meura Mash Filters for the just budding Craft Beer Industry. No Lauter Tuns. Ever. My role at Aegir was broad, encompassing everything from sales and aftersales, troubleshooting and support services, engineering and design, quality control, commissioning and training and just about everything one can do at a small business other than manage the money. Most importantly, from 2013 to 2023, I made many, many relationships with craft brewers that I will cherish forever, stretching from Honolulu, Hawaii to Halifax, Nova Scotia. And actually all the way to Belgium. While at Aegir I was able to meet and work with the mash filter experts at Meura, who would become my future colleagues. In October of 2023 I joined Boccard Life Sciences, which as I mentioned is a sister company of Meura, with offices here in the US and Canada. So now my role is to spread the names and professional brewing expertise of Meura and Boccard accross the North American Brewing Industry.
