Scott Britton is currently a Senior Scientist employed at Duvel Moortgat in Belgium, where he leads the organization's efforts in research and development, brewery integration, and corporate quality. Alongside his industry role, Scott is an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Utica University, where he teaches Microbiology.
Scott's academic journey began with a B.S. in Biology from Utica University, followed by an M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.B.A. from Marist College. Currently, he is completing a Ph.D. at the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Biophysics, and Bioengineering at Heriot-Watt University. His current research interests include quorum sensing in yeast, the microbial ecology of mixed culture fermentations, and the microbial susceptibility of NABLABs (Non-Alcoholic and Low-Alcoholic Beverages).
Scott also served as the President of the American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) from 2019 to 2020 and was a member of the ASBC Board of Directors from 2014 to 2021. He continues to contribute to the society as the current Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of the American Society of Brewing Chemists.
