Joey Thate, (Beverage Consultant Self Employed) is a creative force in the beverage world, with a career spanning beer, RTDs, THC beverages, and now wine. He began at Great Divide Brewing Company in Denver before joining Platform Beer Co., where he shaped the brewery’s identity and helped lay the groundwork for Ohio’s #1 hazy IPA. At Market Garden Brewery, he developed top sellers like Lemon Shandy, Krispi IPA, and the Shandyland variety pack.
Under Anheuser-Busch, Joey managed large-scale craft production, helped in hop selection in major growing regions, and created ready-to-drink cocktail collaborations with various brands.
He also helped open one of Ohio’s first licensed hemp beverage operations.
Now in his second harvest as a winemaker and enologist in Ohio’s Grand River Valley, Joey brings Certified Cicerone training an AB University Global Master Brewers and award-winning expertise to every project—always with an eye on what’s next.
