Tomonori Kano graduated from Keio University with a master's degree in mechanical engineering. Joining Kirin Brewery Company, Ltd in 2013, he was engaged in the quality and production control of beer, as well as in the launch of new products and equipment at the brewery from 2013 to 2017. Next, at the R&D department of Kirin Holdings Company, Ltd, he was in charge of the development of technologies using hops and other ingredients (fruits and spices). Subsequently, he studied in Germany for two years, where he obtained a Brewmaster diploma at Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin and conducted research on fresh hops at Lehrstuhl für Brau- und Getränketechnologie, Technical University of Munich. He returned to the R&D department of Kirin in 2020, where he heads the development of technologies using beer ingredients (hops, malt, barley, etc.).
