Celina discovered her passion for brewing in 2013 while working in Lallemand’s R&D department in Montreal, where she developed dried brewing yeast recipes and explored fermentation and propagation techniques. Back in Austria, she continued with Lallemand in Vienna, contributing to quality control for baker’s and wine yeasts while studying for her Master’s at the University of Vienna.
In 2021, she completed a joint PhD in Brewing Science and Engineering Technology from the University of Nottingham and KU Leuven. Her research focused on developing a brewing process using ‘green’ (germinated but undried) malt. Her studies also took her to University of Copenhagen, TU Berlin, University of Agriculture in Krakow, University Ghent, and included hands-on training at VLB Berlin and Boortmalt.
While finishing her PhD, Celina worked as a quality technician at Bevisol (UK), gaining insight into fruit and malt fermentations, including Hard Seltzers.
She joined Murphy and Son in Nottingham in 2021 as Technical Projects Manager, leading all new product development (NPD) and research and development (R&D) initiatives. In addition, she provides cross-functional support to the Marketing, Quality, and Technical Sales teams. Since 2025, she has also taken on leadership of the Laboratory Customer Service team, further expanding her role in delivering technical e and customer-focused solutions.
