Dr. Cecile Chenot earned her master's degree in chemistry in 2016 and an additional master's degree in brewing engineering in 2017. She then completed a PhD in Brewery and Food Sciences at UCLouvain, Belgium, under the supervision of Prof. S. Collin. Her thesis, titled “Dual Purpose Hops Contain an Astonishing Diversity of Thiol Precursors Recoverable Through Late and Dry Hopping Processes,” was defended in January 2022. Following her PhD, she continued her research as a postdoctoral researcher with the same team for two years. In February of 2024, she joined Prof. T. Shellhammer’s lab, where she is now focusing on the aging of aroma hops during storage.
