Murthy Tata is the founder and CEO of QuantiPerm, LLC (www.quantiperm.com). QuantiPerm innovates instrumentation and process equipment for biprocess monitoring, rapid gas barrier testing, carbonation and deoxygenation systems for the beer and other beverage industry. QuantiPerm’s gas-transfer technologies relevant for retail/beverage dispense applications were spun off as NitroBrew® (www.nitrobrew.com) in 2014.
Prior to founding QuantiPerm, Murthy worked at Motorola Life Sciences in the development of DNA biochip microarray platforms for gene expression and genetic polymorphism analyses (CodeLink™).
Murthy was at Miller Brewing Company between 1994 and 2000 as a senior research and development engineer. He was responsible for innovating new methods and technologies for Miller’s business including - brewing, fermentation, beer processing, and packaging. He was responsible for the development of a suite of protocols and test methods that enabled the launch of the first commercial plastic beer bottle for the North American market.
Murthy received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and MS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University. Murthy has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and holds several patents.
