Andrew Maust is a Senior Graduate Assistant and 2nd year PhD student at the University of Arkansas in the Department of Food Science. He works under the supervision of Dr. Scott Lafontaine. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rice University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Texas A&M University. He is a recipient of the University of Arkansas’ Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship, the university’s top merit-based fellowship award. Andrew has experience as a student working in the food industry with companies such as H-E-B, NASA, and PepsiCo. He has also served as a consulting product developer for several beverage startups. Andrew’s graduate research is focused on improving the quality of Non-Alcoholic Beer (NAB) by exploring its ingredients, production techniques, and safety.
