Roxana received her bachelors and Masters degree at Oregon State University where she studied Food Science and Technology. Her masters thesis focused on the role of spoilage yeast and bacteria in kombucha fermentation under Dr Chris Curtin in his fermentation microbiology laboratory. Previously she has held roles in Research and Development at a large craft brewery. Roxana Navarro is currently a Faculty Research Assistant at Oregon State University. Her role serves as the Lab Manager for the Food Safety Systems Laboratory led by Dr. Joy Waite-Cusic. The Food Safety Systems Laboratory supports the Food and Beverage Industry through Verification and Validation studies which help ensure the safety of food and beverages in the marketplace.
