Maddie Shults is a Master's student at the University of Arkansas, studying Food Science under the guidance of Dr. Scott Lafontaine. Her research combines aspects of starch chemistry, brewing sciences, and sensory as she studies the shelf life of different types of rice and how that impacts brewing quality. Before starting her Master's in January 2025, Maddie graduated with her Bachelor's from Texas A&M University in December 2024, studying Food Science and Technology. During her undergrad, Maddie had industry experience at summer internships for Kellogg's and McCormick & Co.
